Hi Joerg
Thanks for the reply.I dont have glibc installed but i did copy all libc
from my cross-compiler to my rootfilesystem library.
Wouldnot that be enough or do you think i should have glibc installed?
Thanks for your help.

Hi

I had some trouble, couple of days, with my mail box such that I sent a request for help through
a different email address which needed an authorisation cookie.I think I didnot confirm the link which may be why I didnot get a reply.
Now that this email is working,I thought i would just send another request.
Sorry for repeating everything.... and hopefully someone might be able to help me out...

I have tried to cross-compile gpsdrive-2.10pre2 for an arm intel PXA270 without
much success.I keep getting errors from the libpcre.First of all I was unable to cross-compile libpcre since it tries to execute an executable to build its .h files and since I am on a host x86 trying to cross-compile the libpcre for arm,the excutable fails. Therefore I downloaded an already cross-compiled libpcre for arm from a BSD website and got it installed in my lib.
When I do a make of gpsdrive, I get the following errors
/rootfs/rootfs/usr/lib/libpcre.so.1.0:undefined reference to '__stack_smash_handler'
/rootfs/rootfs/usr/lib/libpcre.so.1.0:undefined reference to '__guard'
/rootfs/rootfs/usr/lib/libpcre.so.1.0:undefined reference to '_toupper_tab_'
/rootfs/rootfs/usr/lib/libpcre.so.1.0:undefined reference to '_tolower_tab_'
/rootfs/rootfs/usr/lib/libpcre.so.1.0:undefined reference to '_ctype_'
I was unable to solve those errors.
I went back to the gpsdrive website and found an already cross-compiled version of gpsdrive which was the gpsdrive-1.32-arm.tar.gz.
The gpsdrive was then untarred to my /rootfs/rootfs/usr.A folder gpsdrive was then created with bin share lib man.I copied everything from there to my /rootfs/rootfs/usr/bin,/rootfs/rootfs/usr/lib ..etc...
>From my xserver when I call ./gpsdrive,I get an illegal instruction.
I amnot sure why.Can anyone please help me out to figure out whats wrong with either the gpsdrive-2.10pre or the gpsdrive-1.32-arm.
Your help is really appreciated. Thanks in advance
ash

Just a wild guess:
this sounds a little bit like libc is not installed?
