[ gpsdrive ] GPSdrive without OSM/mapnik?

I had the SVN version compiled a few weeks ago and was working great.  
Now that I've updated the SVN version, I can no longer compile gpsdrive.

The base problem is I'm running Fedora 7, which doesn't have the right 
boost libraries to compile mapnik, and thus I can't compile gpsdrive 
without it.

Is there some way I can exclude mapnik from the compile, or has anyone 
else gotten a full compile on Fedora 7?
