Nope.  configure still checks for mapnik, and I even get a 
"DISABLEED[sic] Mapnik support" message.  As soon as it starts 
compiling, though, it goes back to looking for mapnik and fails.

On a side note, is any specific version of GDAL required?  I have the 
1.4.1 libraries and devel packages installed, but cmake and configure 
both say they can't find GDAL, and I'm pretty sure I said where the 
libs/headers can be found (gdal-config should also tell).
