[ gpsdrive ] gpsfetchmaps and google maps??

I am in the process of setting up my truck PC for enabling me to explore some
of the outback regions in West Australia. I have the latest version of gps
drive install and version 1.05 (latest??) of gpsfetchmaps.

Now I have seen people referencing the mapssource as googlesat maps. My
version does not support this. What versions do? What other ways are there
of getting google maps to the local disk. I have also found the guys website
that generates all the wgets (way cool) but would love to get the source so
I don't hammer his server.

What other options are there?
