[ gpsdrive ] Fresh compile!

I got a fresh compile an install on an updated Fedora 7 machine. I
will check in my notes in README.Fedora.

One glitch:

* In Settings/General, I can set the co-ordinates and distance units,
  but not that for altitude. When I use a non-metric distance unit,
  altitude remains in meters.
