We got a mail from the Translation Project. Maybe we get help in translations
from them. In order to make things easier for them I've got some comments we
should add to the source:
Looking through the POT file, I noticed a few things.
#: src/gpsdrive.c:1945
msgid "NESW"
In the source code you have a comment explaining what these letters
mean. To get this comment automatically added to the POT file by
gettext, it should start with "TRANSLATORS:", all in upper case.
Like this:
/* TRANSLATORS: This string means North,East,South,West -- please
translate the letters */
#: src/gpsdrive.c:3595
msgid "-n Disable use of direct serial connection\n"
To be consistent with the other option explanations, "Disable"
should start with a lower case letter. The same goes for -f, -X,
-l, and -b.
#: src/gps_handler.c:274 src/gpskismet.c:340
msgid "can't open socket for port "
It's probably better to change this string into "can't open socket
for port %s", so that languages that use postpositions, for
example, can translate this into "can't open socket, port %s for".
#: src/map_handler.c:760
msgid " Mapfile could not be loaded:"
Should this one start with a space?
#: src/splash.c:200
msgid "Short cuts:\n"
This should probably be spelt "Shortcuts".
