Nice, but a FAQ is just FSF published opinions of their own licence,
not the authoritative licence.  To understand a licence,
repeatedly read the actual GPL itself (I did over a decade back).

Since, I've heard many people's interpretations of GPL, sometime
conflicting, often inaccurate, mostly boring etc, I just tell who
need to know: Ignore opinions, read actual GPL yourself.  Then do
Not tell people "It means ..." but in turn recursively tell them
"Read the actual GPL text" etc.

I prefer to give away my stuff under BSD licence.

of BSD licence, (I dont mean gpsdrive, but developers generally),
so some projects' code gets given away under GPL by mere reflex.
