as we are primarily developing on debian, we dont' know the specifics of other 
distributions. I guess ther is also some kind of control file that controls 
the installation? maybe you could create such thing with the appropriate 
files, so we can provide an easy installation for gentoo, too?

yes, there are a lot of icons that have to be cleaned up...

no. mysql-support has been removed, because there was no real reason to keep 
this.

the handling of wlan points has been integrated into the poi-management. if 
you want to enable/disable the display for some types you can configure this 
in the poi settings.

that's still possible. you can find the poi mode button under map control.

I justed checked it into the svn...
the option is called "show_apm = 1"
