Thank you!

I'd been experiencing an odd and untraceable problem with mapnik's
generate_image.py failing.

Here is an example:

ryan at walpack:/src/osm_mapnik/mapnik$ ./set-mapnik-env ./generate_image.py
 got exception ...
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "./generate_image.py", line 41, in <module>
    load_map(m,mapfile)
RuntimeError: failed opening file: Bad file descriptor

I had unzipped the coastlines and world boundaries, but after some
other problems with mapnik, I removed them to save some space. I
finally got everything built correctly, but the generate_image.py
script kept failing.

I just removed the sections of osm.xml referring to the coastlines and
world boundaries and everything works!

Hopefully I can finally get GPSDrive working with OSM data now.

Thanks for posting your solution!

Cheers,
-Ryan
