[ gpsdrive ] OSM map position, osm2pgsql flags

Tried it with a few smaller maps and it turns out the default osm2pgsql
settings are the ones needed, I used the -d flag to specify the gis database
but thats the default so no flags at all should be needed.
Don't know what was happening with it, I had changed countries to use a
smaller map (wiping the old map) and when I fired up gpsdrive the old map
(france) was still shown but on zooming out it disappeared, seems like it's
hanging around in memory somewhere.
Also when I zoom out to anything above the 10km scale there is a northern
offset, up to about 100km at around the 1000km scale. The cursor is going off
screen too, seems to be more when going down from, say, the small 25km scale
to the big 25km scale (ie. zooming in) but it's happening at any scale and can
be of the screen for 3 or 4 steps. Is it worth trying the svn version of
mapnik instead?
cheers
