That explains the new instaboot feature :)
Tried with the svn version of mapnik, no difference. The offset at long distance 
really isn't a problem as that kind of zoom is only useful for jumping from 
place to place in position mode but the cursor going outside the visible map 
is a real pain. BTW, I'm running with -G 800x600
