I think we can remove it from the stree, since I didn't find any references 
either.

This is not too much of a problem in the long run. We can think of providing 
sql dumps from the imported Data. This way the import should go flawlessly 
and fast on most machines suitable for gpsdrive with pgroute routing.

Did you already ask if there a chance to use a different coordinate system 
with pgroute? I cannot think of too many differences in terms of routing 
depending on the coordinate system. But maybe I'm wrong there.
