No, OpenSuse tells me that postgis-1.3.4-1.1 is installed.

I follow these steps:
createdb -E UTF8 -O kaare gis
createlang plpgsql gis
psql -d gis -f lwpostgis.sql
which finish with no errors. But then the error comes when I do this:

./osm2pgsql -v ~/italy.osm
