[ gpsdrive ] Tiles big & small

I'll be setting up my laptop to use gpsdrive/openmap for
road, air & skidoo.  I have some very high resolution 
aerial photos of my immediate area with roads and forest
trails and am wondering if the current tile system allows 
a user to incorporate such into the map data?  If so, how 
would I do that, say in the case of several 1 square-km 
photos of the order of 4000 pixels? I could mark, crop or 
posterize them to match one minute or one second arcs.
