[ gpsdrive ] mapnik options --enable and --disable broken ?

Hi

I cannot build this pile of s*t of mapnik (is this simply usefull, uhh) , so I 
decided not to use it at all.

Unfortunately, giving --disable-mapnik or --enable-mapnik configure option 
give always the same result: make fails with

/tmp/gpsdrive-2.10pre4/src/map_handler.c:664: undefined reference to 
`get_mapnik_imagedata'

I try FOR YEARS to compile and use gprdrive, but it seems that 2008 is not yet 
the right year :-) Are all pictures shown on site "fakes" ?
