Hi,

I stumbled across the garble tool and was looking to update the garble.1 man page with a comment about what it actually does.

The only description I could find was in the gpsdrive.1 man page:

'the program "garble" (included in the package) to read out your
waypoints from the Garmin GPS (Transfer mode must be set to GARMIN here, while GpsDrive needs NMEA!).'

I went looking in the source but could only find it mentioned in a couple of header files. Has it been removed? The man page says "do not modify this file directly" but I could not find the upstream source for the help text either.

If it still exists, what advantages does it have over gardump, gpstrans, or gpsbabel's garmin tool?

(/usr/bin/garble ships with the GpsDrive 2.09-2.1 package for Debian/etch)
