Clean install of ubuntu.

Add http://www.gpsdrive.de/debian as software source, no problems. Did not add authentication I'll try that later.

Reload package index.

Using synaptic search for gpsdrive.

Found.

Select for install.

Numerous dependencies all ok except when you actually mark for installation:

  Gpsdrive:
Depends: libboost-threads1.33.1 but it is not installable
Depends: libboost-filesystem1.33.1 but it is not installable

The problem lies in that ubuntu 8.04 has 1.34.1 of the boost libraries.

All other packages (except gpsdrive-scipts) select ok even those that use the boost libraries.

  Gpsdrive-scripts:
Depends: gpsdrive but it is not going to be installed.

First problem should be an easy fix, make the dependency >= 1.33.1

Second problem I don't know but this should be resolved by installation of gpsdrive. However if you select gpsdrive scripts first it does not automatically select gpsdrive.
