[ gpsdrive ] It doesn't work

Hello,

I'm using Ubuntu 8.04. I already have gpsd installed just to check my 
Garmin etrex with a simple viewer, MiniGPS. Using a USB/serial cable. 
/dev/ttyUSB is linked to /dev/ttyS0. All works OK.

Now, I download latest GpsDrive using Ubuntu Synaptic Package Manager. 
No problem, and see GpsDrive under Applications>Internet. It opens OK. 
The Garmin is connected just like before when I used the MiniGPS. Under 
GPS Status I see No GPS. Under Options>Preferences, I cannot see any tab 
to set COM port. All I see is Gereral, Waypoints, Friends, Navigation, 
and GUI. When I try the telnet procedure, I never connect. I'm not using 
a firewall.

What is going here? I'm very frustrated. Any help appreciated.
