One of the problems is, that I'm trying to contact Christoper Jastram since 
some time. But I cannot get ahold of him. If anyone has more info about how

Yes I was thinking of it, but last time I talked to the OSGeo Guys I couldn't 
find out any real advantages of joining ...

But as we saw they disappear more easily. And I definitely have no problem 
having a half written README; if the alternative is having no README ;-)
