(see earlier posts in this thread; -> BSB -> gdalwarp + gdal_slice.sh
-> GpsDrive

I hope to compose the howto guide for this over on the GRASS Wiki site,
and as well I hope everyone interested will help contribute to that.
Just create yourself an account and start editing. Even if you only
have questions to be answered, you can add those in as a new section
and hopefully someone else can fill in the tutorial details. ie I have
no idea what others' requirements are.

initial page is here:
  http://grass.gdf-hannover.de/wiki/Export_for_GpsDrive

Once it is written the plan is that it will be added to the GpsDrive
source tree as a README file, I just find a wiki to be well suited for
the initial collaborative authoring effort. Probably only
d.out.gpsdrive material will remain on the GRASS wiki after that move.

You must get Gpsd running before attempting to use GpsDrive.
Getting this working is completely independent of GpsDrive.

What does "Linux download driver" mean? After the trip track download,
or real-time USB->Serial chip driver? If the latter usually it is
better to use the one that comes with a modern Linux kernel? Check the
result of dmesg after you plug it in and ask for help on the gpsd
mailing list.
