The syntax I used was :
chris123 at kubuntu8:~$ gdalwarp -t_srs "EPSG:4326" -order 2 -rn 12200_1.KAP 
noaa_1.tif

to confirm I just ran it again just to make sure.

chris123 at kubuntu8:~/gdal_sample$ gdalwarp -t_srs "EPSG:4326" -order 2 -rn 
12200_1.KAP noaa_1.tif
Processing input file 12200_1.KAP.
:0...10...20.Segmentation fault

and got a different result. I have a low memory machine that I use for 
testing. Slow but reliable hardware. Was wondering if this could be a memory 
issue? 

Will install Kubuntu on a different machine in the next few days and see if I 
get the same result.
