right. until we figure out how to set it otherwise we need to activate
editors by hand. for that we need your SF login ID name. Probably it would
help to also register yourself as a member of the main gpsdrive SF project.
(it asks you about that on registration?) AFAICT the main SF login
propogates to the Mediawiki Auth. (which is why I couldn't figure out how
to log out yesterday).

nah, IMO set the barrier to entry as low as possible without allowing in
spammers. there is good "recent changes" page, change history, and
spammer banning/reverting tools built in.
