Just tested that and it works fine even on 2.10pre4

Route only displays when you tick off tracks otherwise only waypoints appear. 
The accuracy of the route however is dependent on the scale of the map. It 
seems that the algorithm? used to draw the route wants to connect the end 
points at higher levels of zoom. Once you zoom down to a lower scale the 
route aligns itself with the waypoints. In some cases this has to be as low 
as 1500 pending how close the tracks are together. ie: entering and leaving 
port. Its actually easier to understand via a graphic. 

Then again I am working on a file not generated by me rather a friend who is 
in transit down the east coast of Canada/US...generated by a garmin gps unit 
and extracted using easy gps according to the file data on windows XP.
