definitely no!
gpx is an open standard, that is well documented. if someone uses it in a
wrong way, they have to be made aware of that, but it's not our task to take
care of adapting to it (I've seen this too many times in web development...).
the time spent with such useless work is better used for something productive.

I guess there are utilities out there to do that.

documentation is freely available. If someone decides to support such a
standard, he should implement it like it is described in its documentation.
