where are they stored on your disk? ~/.gpsdrive/maps/expedia/ ?
what do the entries in map_koords.txt look like? (ie image path)
make sure the expedia box is checked in the Map Control window.
The expedia map tiles I have here work ok.

Expedia download support has been removed from the main program. It is
still available for download via gpsfetchmap.pl AFAIK. see
https://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=2159811&group_id=148048&atid=770280
Note download support and rendering support for already downloaded maps is
two totally different things -- already-downloaded maps should still
render fine.

ps- have you tried SeaClear II for MS Windows (or Linux+Wine) + BSB charts?
http://www.sping.com/seaclear/ telling it which BSB charts to use is a bit
wierd, I had to spend a little time to read the docs to figure out how.
It is free gratis but not free libre, but maybe it fills a gap.
