If you are unsure of the content, I would suggest to compose any hints
and tips in the GpsDrive wiki, then we can review and add it into the
source code distribution when it's ready.

I have no idea about sources of charts for the Med. Only that GDAL (www.gdal.org) can read (unencrypted) BSB softcharts and S-57 ENC format
and that you can use a combination of GDAL and other free GIS tools to
convert those into GpsDrive tiles.

If you have paper charts you can scan them and then geo-register them
so the computer knows that that grid line means 15degrees W, etc.

I have now loaded in some info from the old wiki which I was able to
scrape from archive.org.
