Oh I agree and the weather overlay is on my list as well. As for the
hardware, I am going to upgrade to the ICOM radio anyway and all I need for
AIS is to receive. Doesn't matter if you transmit, the salties on the
seaway are on auto pilot and they must be avoided at all cost.
(if the Border Patrol wakes up to the tracking possibilities this discussion
just might be moot anyway, they would like full transponders but the FCC
hasn't got their act together).
Oh and there is AIS tracking code around so you are correct in that it
could be integrated outside of GPSDrive.
