OK this all works now except I get the same errors on starting gpsdrive as 
Hamish. I use gpsdrive only for marine navigation so want to keep it as small 
as possible. Will have to wait I guess till a solution is found as 3 megs of 
icons on an embedded system is a very large space requirement. Similar for my 
future pending as soon as I get some spare cash, brand spanking new shinny 6 
hr battery EEEPC..:) 

Thanks for all your hard work on this. Hope a suitable solution that works for 
everyone if forthcoming.
