I have some problems with pre8.svn.  The -M car cuts off the bottom 
bars, the mapnik mode is extremely slow on my 900A here in Celebration, 
Florida, there seems to be no speech though the dispatcher is found and 
festival is running in server mode.

I was obliged to use M$ S&T which is mortifying.
