that could be fine, yes.
but it would also be a good idea, to have checkboxes that enable/disable 
certain features by choosing or filtering mapnik xml files.
I guess the ordinary user won't like to deal with xml styles; he just wants to 
select if he likes to see tracks, motorways, wood, ...

I'm currently reworking the poi-types, then we will have a last pre version.
if that goes fine, we will have a final 2.10.
