This should be easy enough to do, I just need to work out what everything in the osm-in.xml file does.  It would also solve some of the problems with icons not found.

Great.

I've got offline routing working well using gosmore (not turn by turn but definitely a routing solution) so I'll look at including that after the release of 2.10

In the mean time I'll look at a configurable osm.xml solution using both user selectable xml files and a checkbox type system where the user can select what is show.
