this comes from a do/while loop in the function expose_cb inside gpsdrive.c.
It is somehow related to map drawing I guess, but I don't know, what it really 
does...

this is also a issue, that should be addressed after the release:
cleanup the map drawing functions, maybe rewrite them or create a "map 
widget", to improve performance and also enable things like dragging...
