Mapnik is a library for drawing geographical data, especially for
drawing maps. It is widely used eg. in the OpenStreetMap project
(www.openstreetmap.org) as well as in other projects.

Gpsdrive is heading into the direction of more and more using
OpenStreetMap data for display (and maybe at some time even for
routing, be it direct or indirect).
