if you want to use mapnik with gpsdrive you need a postgres database with
postgis extensions. the easiest way to do the setup, is to use the script
mapnik-osm-updater.sh coming with the openstreetmap-utils package.
but gpsdrive can also be compiled without the mapnik extensions...
