Since I cannot get the File in etch It might be necessary to disable mapnik too. :-(((

in debian/lenny I can fnd it. So backports seem incomplete.
I wrote a mail to them ...

Yes I did:
aptitude search mapnik
i libmapnik-dev - C++/Python toolkit for developing GIS applications (devel)
i A libmapnik0.5 - C++/Python toolkit for developing GIS applications (libraries)
