AFAIR dbus was used as an option for the gpsd connection some time ago. but 
this isn't used anymore. currently dbus is not needed, so I would recommend 
to remove those dependencies.

maybe I will make use of dbus in gpsdrive in the future for my carbox project. 
but this will take some time...
