</div>Script package and tabs/buttons dedicated to downloading maps and processing<br>
them "automagically" from wms or other server sources. Its the processing of<br>
tiles that's really the issue and that could be automated in theory. So for a<br>
marine application of gpsdrive, downloading maps would then be as simple as<br>
expedia sources. At this time I think this would be limited probably to NOAA<br>
mapping sources however.<br>

There would be no dependency on openstreetmap, mapnick or any other component<br>
to keep the package as small and robust as possible.<br>

Those are the two big issues I can think of, but as I don't know the program<br>
well enough at this point I cant really comment further.<br>

Since gpsdrive cannot be used for route planning as described in the docs, and<br>
I understand why, perhaps there is a workaround as that would complete a<br>
simple and basic marine ECS.<br>
